Maison Desny

Founded by Nauny Clément, Maison Desny delivered a prolific output of luxury decorative objects, despite its relatively brief period of existence between 1927 and 1933. Operating from an address firstly on Rue Cambon and subsequenty on the Champs Elysées, the lighting, vessels and tableware produced by the company was distinctive not only for the architectural presence of the forms, but also for the exceptionally high quality of manufacture. Desny’s streamlined aesthetic found numerous supporters amongst the artistic avant-garde, most notably the Maharaja of Indore, who acquired a large selection of nightlights for prominent display at his Modernist palace.
